GUIDED MEDITATION, NEW YEARS 2020, Release the Old and Welcome New Begin...

 I wrote this meditation to help you let go of
2019 and move forward into 2020, but you can use it anytime that you’re
crossing over an important threshold in your life. This guided meditation is
the first of The Witch’s Meditation Studio Series. I’m honored to have you join
me today. First find a quiet place where you will be undisturbed for the length
of this meditation. You may sit comfortably or lay down if you prefer. In this
meditation we will go on a journey where you will be able to overcome, and release
that which doesn’t serve you. Then you will be cleansed with healing energy,
regain your power, and possibly receive guidance as you shift out of old
patterns and embrace new beginnings. You may choose to close your eyes, or you
may meditate on the candle flame if you wish.

I
have set up an altar space for your meditation. On the left side of the altar
there are representations of where you’ve been; a milkweed pod holds holly
berries to represent challenges, a witches burr and black tourmaline stand as
guardians to protect your energy. Frankincense incense burns for blessings and
to raise vibrations. A white candle in a cauldron for regeneration, the candle
is dressed with sage and lavender for clearing away negative energy and
bestowing blessings of wisdom and protection. A shell of moon water in the
center of the altar with a crystal in it is for purification. A grapevine star
represents the balance of the elements, above it is a Pecos diamond, a stone
for helping you through difficult times. On the right side is a birds nest
representing promise, hope and renewal and selenite to assist you in your
spiritual work through this meditation. There are bird feathers on both sides
to bring in messages from Spirit. Whether you choose to meditate gazing at the flame
or with closed eyes, you will benefit from the energy. I’m a Reiki
Master/Teacher and I’ve charged this meditation with Reiki energy to assist you
on your quest.

SIMPLE WINTER SOLSTICE Ritual and Free Printable Sigil

The winter solstice is a magical moment in time. I have a
really easy ritual for you, it doesn’t have to be a big ritual to be powerful,
this one is nice for seasoned witches who are just really busy (or injured like
I am.) or it’s a great practice for a beginner witch. The days have been
getting shorter and shorter but on the night of the winter solstice the sun
sets as early as it ever does and we have the longest night of the year. When
the sun rises after the longest night, we face the morning with hope in our
hearts because even though we may have colder days ahead, we will start to
notice the days becoming slowly longer again. This is a celebration of one of
the mysteries of witchcraft: even in the dark and cold, life finds a way. It’s
a perfect time to set intentions.

No Drama Family Gathering Spell to Radiate Peace, Love, and Blessings Wi...

Some people have lots of stress during the holidays due to high expectations, social anxiety, finances, or dealing with family who you might not get along with at gatherings. I thought a spell to radiate peace around the family gathering and help to banish drama might be useful this time of the year, although you can do this one anytime.



Clementines are popular at the holiday time, and it so happens that you can use one to make some really cool candle magic and impress everyone at your holiday gathering, this spell is totally under the radar, it looks like a gorgeous pinable party trick but done with the proper intention it can really raise the vibrations around you. Plus, you don't have to break out a huge sage bundle and fill the place with smoke to calm everyone's nerves!



Score the clementine around its center, and carefully pull the peel off in two pieces. As you do this visualize the scent of the clementine releasing joyful, healing, and calming vibes into the house. This spell uses easy ingredients from around the house to help keep the peace and is great for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any time you’re family is getting together. I'll show you how to do it step by step.

Creepy Frozen Charlotte Dolls: The Weird History and Reading the Poem About F...

I bundled up and hit the road with my little Frozen Charlotte doll in tow and headed to Meramec State Park to tell you all about the folklore behind these interesting little porcelain dolls.



 There's some history behind these creepy little dolls that were very popular during the Victorian era. Lots of people see them at yard sales or second hand shops and pass them by not realizing that there's a dark story behind them. Many collectors purchase these dolls to display and admire the folklore behind them. I’ll also take you on a walk in the frozen Midwest while I read you the tale that inspired these dolls name, A Corpse Going to a Ball by Seba Smith.



Join me while I freeze my toes and fingers to bring you something a little bit different, the tale of Frozen Charlotte.

MY DIY FLORIDA WATER and FREE Printable Label

I really needed to make a new batch of my home-made Florida Water so I decided to make a video so you can see how I do it.

So this is my DIY Florida water and I have a free download for
a Printable Label in the video description on YouTube so that when you make your own Florida water, you can have a
pretty bottle too! My recipe is an altered version of the one that appeared in
the 2018-2019 Llewellyn’s Sabbats Almanac, I wrote a series of essays for that
entitled Portable Magic.

easy method when I was researching my book Llewelllyn’s Little Book of

How to Celebrate Samhain with my Sigil and Enter the Book Giveaway

a few simple ideas for your Samhain celebration? I have a Samhain sigil to
share with you, a free download, and a few ideas on how you can use it to
celebrate Samhain. Also, we passed 900 subscribers so of course I’m doing

Samhain can
be a super busy time in the Northern hemisphere if we celebrate on October 31 because
of course it dovetails with Halloween festivities, trick or treaters ringing
your doorbell, and all that goes with it, and yet it’s also a solemn time when
we contemplate those who have passed and also think about the progression of
time as we look back over the previous year and ahead to the future.  Samhain is also a great time to perform spells
and divination because the veil between the worlds is thin and energy can
easily move between for manifesting and insight. So some easy practical ways to
celebrate can be really useful.

So I have a free
printable sheet for you which includes this design on a beautiful petition. I
left them black and white so you can color them if you wish to add your own
energy to the design. If you’re new to petition magic,  you can use petition magic in many different
ways, it’s all about intention. You can burn a petition with the intention of
releasing and banishing something or with the intention of sending it off to
manifest. It’s fairly simple magic and it’s really all about what you visualize
the energy doing when you burn it. 

Here’s a few
examples:

1.    You can use this Samhain petition to
banish things you don’t want in your life anymore like bad habits, old
patterns, obstacles to your goals. I suggest using it as a two part petition
for this purpose. Write what you want to banish on half of the petition and
then on the other half write what you want to replace it with. Remember nature
abhors a vacuum so deciding what you want to replace those things with can
really help to banish them for good. When you burn it visualize casting it into
the cauldron to transform the energies in your life into something better.

2.    One of my favorite things to do with
petition magic on Samhain especially if I have non witch guests who want to try
a bit magic on Samhain, is to write three wishes for the upcoming year. The
guideline is that these must be achievable goals. Fill it with your energy,
visualize them already happening, Then cast them into the flames sending them
into the universe to manifest.

3.    You can also use petition magic
especially at Samhain to send messages of love or remembrance to loved ones who
have passed. Simply write your message and send it by flames through the veil.

4.    One more great use for petition magic
at Samhain  is to receive messages from
beyond. Write down a question that needs an answer and burn it. The answer
should come to you in your dreams that night, especially during Samhain when
our psychic windows are very open. You can also use this petition on Samhain
using the method for dream magic in this video.

I also added
this sigil to a little a candle label that you can use for a little jar candle
to place on your Samhain altar, your hearth, or even your front porch. Just cut
it out and use a glue stick to attach it to any jar candle holder. I like
sprinkling cloves on my candle for protection, you can also use cinnamon for protection
or prosperity, thyme and rosemary for remembrance. Of course as always, see
what you have on hand and feel free to use the petition and candle label in any
way that inspires your magic this Samhain.

Samhain Pumpkin Protection Spell

This one is perfect for your full moon magic tonight, but you can do it anytime you have a pumpkin! Samhain Pumpkin Protection Spell October and the veil
between the worlds is thin, they’re all noticing more spirit activity. I’m
going to show you how to cast a spell with any pumpkin for shielding your home
from toxic energies and low vibration, toxic spirits! This pumpkin also
welcomes helpful spirits aligned with your higher good, because honoring
ancestors and beloved dead is a wonderful way to celebrate Samhain. This is a
great spell to do on Halloween/ Samhain and uses easy ingredients that you have
around the house. You can use any pumpkin to radiate protection energy across
your property to keep unwelcomed spirits from affecting your homes energy. I’ll
walk you through this spell step by step. This is an appropriate spell for
beginners or experienced witches alike, you may decide to use this little ritual
every year.

INCANTATION FOR SPELL:

“Precious Pumpkin watch over my home

Protecting from bane all you behold

By the power of the pale moonlight,

Shield us from harm both day and night.”

Birthday Candle Spell Powerhouse Technique, Witchcraft on a Budget

Here is my birthday candle spell “Powerhouse Technique” that I wanted to share with you. If you want to do witchcraft on a budget and you’re looking for low-cost witchcraft tools, birthday candles are a great solution for you. I came up with a great technique and wrote about it in Llewellyn’s 2016 Magical Almanac to turn the little birthday candle into a total magical powerhouse. I’ll talk about basic candle spell methods for any beginners to candle magick and compare it to this advanced candle magick method that anyone can pick up and use. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, you can even get birthday candles from the dollar store for your witchcraft. You can even use those birthday candles with colored flames for extra drama! All it takes is your energy and focus to manifest. I’ll share this technique and show you as I perform a spell for quick money and abundance!

Mabon Last Minute Magic

What a week! Things got a bit behind, but I did manage to upload a new video after much hair pulling last night when the whole thing got hung up, but it worked out.  Today is Mabon/Autumn Equinox!
Barely, since I got this uploaded so late! LOL Sometimes life just gets in the
way, so if it snuck up on you, as Mabon can do, no shame. Here’s some ideas on
quick Mabon Last Minute Magic to honor the day and a couple simple Mabon
rituals for beginners.

I do have a big Mabon altar set up,
so I’ll do a quick altar tour at the end of the video, but you don’t have to
have a big set up like mine. I had already set up my altar halfway through last

It’s a full moon and you’re exhausted from the week,
or you don’t have the supplies of your dreams, or for whatever reason…you just
can’t even. Everyone on Instagram has posted all these amazing photos of their
full moon ritual and you just have one candle and your intentions…does that
make you less of a witch?  I love a big
fabulous Full Moon or Sabbat ritual as much as the next witch, but sometimes
life just gets in the way, lets have a frank talk about what to do when that

Dark Moon Banishing Spell and Magical Almanac Winner

I really went overboard shooting this one and I tried to cram too much into one video, so it took forever to edit it! Anyway, I cut quite a bit and I'll probably do a "part 2" for the Black Moon July 31 2019, but I think it all worked out.

How I Make a Hand Painted Scrying Bowl

I really wanted to make a new video but I had lots of scrying bowls to paint for our Etsy customers, so I killed two birds with one stone! (No birds were harmed while making this video or scrying bowl!)



I’ve posted these bowls on social media, and  I thought you might enjoy watching how I paint these step by step.  I’m also giving you a brief mini tour of the magical space I’m working in today. A scrying bowl is a psychic tool. When properly prepared, cared for and respectfully used, it can help the user unlock their own psychic abilities allowing a blank screen or canvas for visions to appear. I discuss the art of scrying in my book "The Witch's Mirror, The Craft, Lore, & Magick of the Looking Glass." A scrying bowl is the modern equivalent of a pond or dark reflective surface of water which was the oldest form of mirror. I’ll show you what kind of paint I use and how I do it!

Witch’s Solar Sun Tea, Kitchen Witch Spell, Easy Magick Brew

So I had a short hiatus from YouTube, I had family visits, several writing deadlines, and just some life stuff. I was feeling a bit drained and had several "bad Hashimoto's" days. Hashimoto's Disease is an autoimmune disorder and one of my big triggers seems to be diet. I'm back on track and feeling much better now so I decided to share a video with a version of a spell I wrote for the Llewellyn's 2012 Spell-A-Day Almanac, and oldie but a goodie! 



So...it kinda got posted weird. Dan took me out for 50 cent shrimp last night and so I was editing late and while I was trying to schedule this vid to go up at a decent time today I accidentally posted it at like 4 am!! Litha Spell and How I Made a Midsummer Sigil 2019

Summer Solstice also known as Midsummer or Litha is the time
of the year when the sun is at it’s zenith. It’s the longest day of the year. So you probably have seen my recent sabbat symbols/sigils that I've been adding to my Etsy shop, so I decided to show you the process I use to create these symbols. I
created this beautiful and powerful sigil for Litha and I videotaped it so that you can see how I
made it step by step. I included symbols of the season to draw on the power of
the Midsummer sun at the height of it’s power. I’ll also explain a bit about
the Summer Solstice and why we celebrate, including a quick bit about the Oak King and the Holly King.

Thunderstorm Crystal Charging and Clearing

Hi Dears!



I went out into the rain because we had a thunderstorm on the way and I know this is one of my favorite methods to clear and charge my crystals! I gathered them all up and lined the big ones up on the rail on  my back porch. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm nuts! LOL



Freya came out to help me (you can hear her dog tags jingling as she tried to shake off the water) she's a good girl! Anyway, I decided to shoot a quick video for you so that you can see how I do it. I didn't have time to do my nails first so you can see my chipped up nails in the video, and I also show off my super glamorous laundry room! Oh well, it's just me being totally real!



Have you ever cleansed and charged your crystals in the wind, rain, and lightning charged air? I love leaving my crystals out in the swirling elements, when I bring them in after the storm they're always vibing really high!

Real Witch Reacts to Victoria Beckham’s Spa Moon Water

When fashion designer Victoria Beckham shared that she was
drinking moon water during her week at a spa in Germany, and saw a few
reactions, I had a few things I wanted to say of the subject, so of course, I
took to YouTube. If you can’t afford fancy spa water “bottled on full moon day directly at the source of Bad
Leonhardspfunzen, Stephanskirchen.” No worries, this witch will tell you how to
make your own and I even have a fancy label for your own witch’s full moon
water.

The full moon resonates
with magical energies of the divine feminine (and that’s the feminine aspect of
everyone; guys, gals, all genders included!) The full moon beams healing energy
and can clear the chakras and boost the life force of anyone who is open to it.
 

In
most traditions of magic water is ruled the moon, after all the moon is the
reason for the ocean’s tides, it’s pull is very strong on the element of water.
Up to 60% of the human body is composed of water, so magically speaking the
moon can have a very healing effect on our mind, body, and spirit. Water
absorbs energy very easily, so you can fill your water with blessings and
intentions before drinking it just by directing your thoughts into the bottle.

Dr.
Masaru Emoto found interesting results from his experiments that showed ice
crystals formations that differed depending on the energies that they were
treated with.

Many
people who work with magic bless their own bottles of water under the full moon
to fill it with the strong lunar energy. I have a bottle of it myself. It’s
purifying energy is often used to cleanse crystals, bless personal sacred
spaces and tools, and many people drink it or cook with it to summon up a bit
of kitchen witchery.  I personally like to add a bit of my blessed moon
water to tap water to elevate it’s vibrations if I need extra energy, if I’m
doing tarot readings, or if I’m breaking out any big magic.

Anyone
who doesn’t want to buy moon water can make their own quite easily. Simply
bottle your own water or use bottle spring water and pour it into a glass
bottle with a good lid. Take it outside the night of the full moon and bless it
using your own words. Leave it in the moonlight for at least an hour so that it
fills up with that magical silvery light! Keep it in a dark place until you
want to use it. Keeping track of the astrological sign that the moon is in when
you bottle and bless it can add an extra layer of magic to your moon water
magic!

Green Man Money Jar Spell

I've wanted to do it for awhile, and I finally did it~ I'm on YouTube! This is my second video, I'm trying to manage posting every Saturday, but this one ended up being posted on Monday. My first one was a Beltane Beauty spell, you can find it on my channel. I did this video without my glasses, the reflection of the light in my lenses was a bit of a distraction. I'm shooting right now with my iPhone clipped to a floor lamp and a small selfie light up in my studio and editing in iMovie on my phone. It's not a very professional setup, but I'm not unhappy with the results. I need to get a better light. For sure. My son Tristan suggested that I get a copy of Premiere Elements for my computer, he can teach me since he has Premiere and is an editing wiz himself. So we'll see. Maybe you'll be able to watch my videos improve with time.

Green Man is the joyous laughing Spirit of the green woods: Here's a really easy spell to help you attract the energies of this spirit of growth and abundance to help you open up to limitless abundance and bring more money into your life. This spell was inspired by my article “The Green Man: Spirit of Abundance” published in Llewellyn’s 2012 Magical Almanac.
