I'm sharing how I make a Halloween Protection Talisman called a Samhain Cross or Parshell. This traditional bit of old folk magick comes from rural Ireland and have such old roots that no one really knows it's origin. I wrote about these in my book Llewellyn's Little Book of Halloween and I illustrated one for Diana Rajchel's book "Samhain" which is part of Llewellyn's Sabbats Essentials series. These protection amulets are traditionally made on Halloween or Samhain and hung over the front door on the inside of the home. A new one is made every year. When the old one is removed it's important to shout "Fonstarensheehy!" Then the new one takes it's place. The ones from previous years were often hung in the barn to protect the livestock and farm equipment, a modern alternative is to hang them in the garage. They can also be burned.
I'll walk you through step-by-step in the video while I make one.
